Dowco Enterprises Inc. is a full service lawn maintenance provider located in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. Dowco caters to commercial and discriminating property owners who are seeking one lawn care provider for all their service needs.
Maurice Dowell is focused on leading Dowco to dominate the full service maintenance market while building personal and professional relationships with its clients. “We go right after who we want as clients,” says Dowell.
Dowco’s customer base expects superior customer service, which can create a substantial number of phone calls each day. This is not a problem, because the management staff to the production staff participates in weekly training sessions. Recent topics were weed identification, understanding the sales process and what makes Dowco different than the competition! Management as well as production staff handles the training sessions. The 30 minutes each week has become a time of bonding for the entire staff. Michael Gerber’s book “The E myth” provided Maurice direction as he sought to direct Dowco through the company’s early stage of growth.
Maurice is involved nationally with the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET). Locally, he helped form the Grace Business Owners community group at Grace Church in Maryland Heights, Missouri. In his free time, Maurice likes to read and keep fit. His wife Donna has worked for Dowco in a variety of capacities since 1985. The Dowell’s have two college–age children, Ryan and Kelly who work for Dowco during their school breaks.
The company’s goal is to represent Dowco Enterprises Inc. in a professional manner to the general public and the landscape industry. Our management staff is composed of "A" players who possess a can do attitude. We have a culture that welcomes involvement, interaction and thinking creatively. Twenty years in the industry has produced a staff of professionals doing what it takes to remain successful!

Maurice Dowell
Owner/President
Maurice Dowell always knew that he wanted to own a business. Maurice began his quest in middle school requesting a typewriter for a birthday present and participating in Junior Achievement. Retail sales, fast food management along with selected colleges courses pushed Maurice further on the path towards business ownership.
Maurice started Dowco in 1978 with a vision of providing top quality, professional services to those who desire the best. Taking on the challenge of offering full service, complete lawn care to discriminating property owners soon made Dowco Enterprises Inc. St. Louis’ premier lawn care company.
One of Maurice’s passions is to increase awareness of the “Green Industry.” Nationally he serves as the Membership Chairperson for the Professional Landcare Network, Planet; he volunteers on several committees and is involved in Planet leadership. Maurice has served on several national panels addressing issues such as growth and systems management. In 2007, Maurice was nominated as a green industry “Trailblazer” and works with companies around the country helping them create systems and processes. Maurice has achieved the “Landscape Industry Certification” accreditation, an internationally recognized symbol of Landscape excellence and in 2009 Maurice was recognized by Lawn and Landscape Magazine with their prestigious Leadership Award.
Over the years Maurice has been blessed by people who have inspired and mentored him. In turn he shares his knowledge and experiences with the members of Grace Business Owners. He helped start and facilitates this business owners group at his church.

Donna Dowell
Corporate Secretary
Donna Dowell has been with Dowco since 1985. Donna holds a Business Degree with a Marketing Management Major. She handles all the "behind the scenes" operations of Dowco. Contact her if you have a question about payroll or public relations.

Account Manager

Kelly Dowell
Administrative Assistant
Kelly Dowell has been involved at Dowco all of her life. She currently attends Lindenwood University and is working on her B.S. majoring in Business Administration. While in school Kelly works part time and full time during the summers. Kelly handles routing and manages many special projects in areas such as safety and human resources.
